A workshop was held under the Sustainable Transformation of Urban Water Cycle Project to formulate a strategic plan for solid waste management in Moulvibazar.

The workshop began at around 11 am on Thursday. in the seminar hall of the city's prestigious Rest Inn Hotel.

A workshop on strategic planning for solid waste management in Moulvibazar Municipality was organized.

Moulvibazar Municipality Administrator and Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Tanvir Hossain spoke as the chief guest at the workshop chaired by Moulvibazar Municipality Assistant Engineer Md. Anwar Shadat and moderated by SNV Cluster Coordinator Md. Rahima Begum.

Former Mayor of Moulvibazar Municipality, Faizul Karim Mayun, spoke as a special guest at the workshop, presenting proposals based on his own experience in waste management.

The workshop was attended by conservancy inspectors, business representatives, LGED representatives, journalists, TLCC members, and citizen representatives, along with municipal officials.

The organizers said that the main goal and objective of this workshop is to jointly formulate a realistic and effective solid waste management strategic plan and annual plan with the Moulvibazar Municipality, Department of Environment, Department of Public Health Engineering, Department of Local Government Engineering, Department of Education and other partners.

The chief guest of the event and the administrator of Moulvibazar Municipality, Tanvir Hossain, said, "We definitely need a clean city. Since Moulvibazar city is called a clean city, we ourselves also claim that this city is a clean city. This city is surrounded by haor hills. Therefore, an improved system is needed in waste management here. We also hope that the citizens of Moulvibazar Municipality will get improved waste management. We are expecting government funds for this."
