Sammilit Chhatra-Janta has formed a human chain and memorandum demanding justice against the teacher of Sharaf Uddin Mahila Dakhil Madrasa in Rajarhat for attempting to rape a Dakhil examinee of the same madrasa and forcibly obtaining a signature on a stamp.

 After the human chain on the street in front of the Upazila Parishad premises on Wednesday afternoon, this memorandum was submitted to the Director General of Madrasa Administration through the UNO.

It is alleged that on May 21, the ICT teacher Maidul Islam Liton called a Dakhil examinee of the same institution to his coaching center and tried to rape her. At that time, the local people detained Maidul. Later, the people of Maidul removed Maidul after talking about resolving the matter amicably.  In this incident, on the early morning of May 23, Maidul and his hired men intimidated the student and her family members and made them sign a non-judicial stamp worth 400 taka. When local journalists published a report on this, the teacher threatened them and abused them obscenely and posted it on Facebook from her own ID. In addition, Maidul posted about the victim student on social media using dirty language.

In protest of this, after the human strike, Khandaker Arif Rawshan Ahmed, Hasan Arif and many others spoke at the protest meeting.

When an attempt was made to contact teacher Maidul Islam on his mobile phone, his phone was switched off. Even his statement could not be obtained as he was absent from the madrasa. However, the teacher had made an objectionable post about the student. It also included a picture of 4 stamps worth 100 taka.

Sharaf Uddin Mahila Dakhil Madrasa Superintendent Mao: Md. Nuruzzaman Sarkar could not be found as his mobile phone was switched off.  Akhtaruzzaman Sujan, the convener of the madrasa's organizing committee, said on Sunday that a three-member investigation committee has been formed and that action will be taken as per the rules after receiving the report within a week.

UNO Md. Al Imran said,  a memorandum has been submitted to the Director General of the Bangladesh Madrasa Education Department through me. Action will be taken accordingly after receiving instructions. Pthoto Attached
