
Gazi's cadres attack freedom fighter's house

Over 100 armed cadres of Golam Dastagir Gazi have allegedly attacked the house of a valiant freedom fighter for working as agent of an independent candidate.
Mehehi Hasan Sajib, son of valiant freedom fighter Farhad Ahmed, worked for Shajahan Bhuiyan, general secretary of the Rupganj unit of the Awami League, at the parliamentary election on Sunday.
The cadres of Golam Dastagir Gazi carried out the attack on the house located in Asulipara village of Daudpur Union at around seven o'clock on Sunday evening.
Ritu Akhtar, wife of freedom fighter Biplab Hasan, informed the reporter.
“My father-in-law Farhad was a freedom fighter on military allowance. In his absence, my mother-in-law is now getting an allowance. The attackers targeted Mehedi Hasan Sajib, who is acting as an agent of Shajahan Bhuiyan,” added Ritu.
The entire house was broken and destroyed, including the Thai, furniture, hard plates, and bathroom tab, according to the members of the victim family.
“My mother-in-law, Delwara Begum, was entering the house with my two children, including a newborn child. In that situation, the attackers hit both his hands with a stick and injured him. At that time, my four-month-old baby girl slipped from my mother-in-law's hand and fell to the ground,” added Ritu.
The attackers forcibly took jewellery from children, and the attackers took away all the important things from the house of freedom fighter.
The victim, Mehedi Hasan, had expressed the fear of such an attack several times after the election before serving as an agent under the kettle symbol at Nurunnesa School in Asulipara of Daudpur Union.
The family members demanded to find the real culprits of this incident and bring them under the law.
