
Former AL Land Minister Rezaul Karim Hira detained with wife in Sherpur

Former Land Minister of the Awami League government, Md. Rezaul Karim Hira, and his wife have been detained by Sherpur Sadar Police Station. They were detained around 5 PM on Tuesday
from the Sub-Registry Office in Sherpur town.
According to police sources, Md. Rezaul Karim Hira—son of deceased Nurul Haque Chowdhury and a resident of Sadar Upazila in neighboring Jamalpur district—along with his wife, had come to the Sherpur Sadar Sub-Registry Office to finalize the sale and registration of a land property. At that time, leaders and activists of the BNP and its affiliated organizations became agitated upon seeing the former minister and turned aggressive.
Upon receiving the news, police detained former Minister Md. Rezaul Karim Hira and his wife from the Sub-Registry Office and took them to Sherpur Sadar Police Station.
Sherpur Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle), Md. Abdul Karim, confirmed the matter.
