Eviction drive clears illegal structures on RHD land in Faridpur

The Faridpur District Administration and the Roads and Highways Department (RHD) conducted a daylong joint eviction drive to remove illegal occupations and temporary structures along RHD land and the Faridpur Medical College Hospital area on Tuesday..
Led by District Administration Executive Magistrate (NDC) Shakib Rahman Akash, the operation ran from Tuesday morning until evening along the Bhanga-Faridpur (Goalchamot) road, stretching from the River Research Institute area in front of Faridpur Medical College to the Bhanga Rasta intersection. Faridpur Sadar Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md. Shafiqul Islam and RHD Executive Engineer Khaled Saifullah coordinated the operation, supported by personnel from RAB, Bangladesh Police, Fire Service and Civil Defence, and Ansar.
During the drive on Tuesday, team members dismantled numerous illegal shops and temporary installations encroaching on RHD property and the hospital premises. Officials noted that the unauthorized structures had been causing severe traffic congestion and restricting access for ambulances, patients, and pedestrians.
Local residents and hospital visitors expressed relief following the clearing of the thoroughfare, noting that the removal of encroachments has restored environmental order and improved mobility.
