Bogura District Motor Workers Union begins month-long plantation,sapling distribution

Bogura District Motor Workers Union has taken to the field with a commitment to protect the balance of the environment and build a green Bangladesh. Today, Wednesday at 11 am, the organization inaugurated a month-long tree plantation and sapling distribution program at Shakpala Park in Bogra city.
On the opening day, in addition to planting saplings in the park premises, saplings of various species of fruit, forest and medicinal plants were distributed among the leaders, activists and working people present at the event.
Speaking at the event, Shamsuzzaman Shamsu, General Secretary of Bogura District Motor Workers Union, said, "A green and shady environment guarantees us natural oxygen. We have taken this initiative inspired by the call of Tarique Rahman. If every person in the country, including our transport sector, plants trees from their respective places, it will ensure a beautiful and livable environment for future generations."
Abdul Hamid Mitul, president of the organization, said, "Wherever there is green, there is peace. We wholeheartedly welcome such positive initiatives to protect the environment." In his speech, he urged for effective solutions to alleviate the severe traffic congestion in Bogra city and assured all-out cooperation from the transport workers.
A large number of leaders and activists of the District Motor Workers Union from all walks of life were present at the program. The union's executive president Sultan, organizing secretary Azadul Haque Ujjal, publicity secretary Sajjad Hossain Pintu, sports secretary Azad, office secretary Loya, cultural secretary Zaki, executive members Abdul Momin, Anisar Rahman, Jahangir and Medical Port Workers' Party president Moniruzzaman Monir along with leaders of various regional branches were present at the program.
The organizers informed that under this month-long program, saplings will be continuously planted and distributed in different parts of the district, keeping in mind the slogans 'Unite the workers of the world' and 'Long live the workers'.
