 The selection process for embodied Ansar trainees representing 17 districts of the Dhaka and Mymensingh ranges was conducted under a transparent and merit-based framework at the Bangladesh Ansar and VDP Academy in Safipur, Gazipur, on Thursday.

Thousands of candidates who had previously completed basic training and applied online gathered at the academy’s Yad Ali Parade Ground to undergo tests measuring physical endurance, medical fitness, and educational competence.

The candidates represented Dhaka, Gazipur, Narayanganj, Narsingdi, Manikganj, Munshiganj, Kishoreganj, Madaripur, Shariatpur, Faridpur, Rajbari, Gopalganj, Tangail, Mymensingh, Netrokona, Jamalpur, and Sherpur districts.

The multi-stage selection process commenced with preliminary height verifications and initial medical screenings, followed by field physical assessments including running, push-ups, side jumps, and high jumps. Candidates clearing the physical trials proceeded to final medical evaluations, followed by written and viva voce examinations. Officials confirmed that final selection lists will be compiled based on cumulative test scores, with results delivered directly to successful candidates via SMS notifications.

All participating candidates had previously completed Upazila/Thana Ansar Basic Training or VDP/TDP Advanced Courses. Senior officials noted that strict adherence to merit-based selection standards ensures the induction of disciplined personnel capable of meeting modern security demands.

Following the upcoming selection phase for the Khulna and Barishal ranges on Sunday, November 1, 2026, the newly selected recruits will undergo a comprehensive three-month embodied Ansar basic training course.
