Bagerhat Correspondent
Professor MM Akash, a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Bangladesh, said that in order to prevent muscle power, stop the rattling of weapons and keep the administration neutral for a fair election, the Election Commission law should be reformed and parliamentary elections should be held quickly.
Appealing to the chief advisor, he said that provisions should be made for MP elections according to the number of votes received by the party participating in the election. Only then will the National Parliament become a symbol of the people's trust.
After the August 5 student-people's revolution, the Communist Party is working across the country to implement this consciousness of the people. Professor MM Akash said this in his speech as the chief guest at a discussion meeting on the topic of 'Mass Uprising and Mass Awareness' on the death anniversary of former President of Bagerhat District Communist Party, freedom fighter Comrade Rezaul Karim on Saturday afternoon.
In the discussion meeting held under the chairmanship of Bagerhat District Communist Party President Tushar Kanti Basu, District Communist Party General Secretary Farrukh Hasan Jewel, Noor Alam Sheikh, Tushar Kanti Das, former District Jubo Dal General Secretary Sujan Molla and leaders of various political parties and classes spoke at the discussion meeting.
