
Effigy of Hill Advisor Su-Pradeep Chakma burnt for discrimination

In protest against the unprecedented discrimination of the Chittagong Hill Tracts Ministry, conscious students of Rangamati Hill District protested by burning an effigy of Hill Advisor Su-Pradeep Chakma wearing a garland of shoes and burning tires.
On Saturday at 11 am, a protest march consisting of Bengalis and hill people, who are victims of discrimination in Rangamati, started from the municipality square and reached the Banarupa CNG square to gather for a rally.
The rally leaders said said, that the Chakma-branded budget allocation that has recently been allocated in an unprecedented manner against the people of the Chittagong Hill Tracts should be canceled and all hill-Bengali ethnic groups should be brought under the allocation in equal proportion to the population. The recent budget allocation by the Chittagong Hill Tracts Ministry in a manner that discriminates against the people of the hills is a clear violation of the principle of equality in the Constitution.
The protest rally was presided over by PCCP Central Committee Vice President and Rangamati District President Md. Alamgir Hossain. The rally was addressed by Kamal Uddin, convener of the conscious civil society, Shyamal Barua, representative of the civil society, as well as leaders of NCP, Barua leaders, Marma leaders and leaders of various organizations and ethnic groups.
Speakers at the rally said, If this discriminatory budget is not amended immediately, the students and people of the Chittagong Hill Tracts will be forced to unite and announce a strict agitation program.
