Drugs worth Tk 5.5 million destroyed in Munshiganj

Drugs worth over Tk 5.5 million, linked to 157 ongoing and settled cases in Munshiganj court, have been destroyed on Wednesday at around 3:00 PM, on the ground floor outside the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court building in Munshiganj.
The drugs were destroyed in the presence of the court’s evidence room in-charge, Senior Judicial Magistrate Shahidul Islam.
During the process, cannabis was weighed and burned, Phensedyl bottles were chopped with a machete, and yaba tablets along with foreign liquor were submerged in water for destruction.
Also present at the scene were SI Isfat Ara Khanom, in charge of the court’s evidence room, along with other court staff.
Regarding the matter, SI Isfat Ara Khanom said that drugs from 157 ongoing and settled cases, worth over Tk 5.5 million, were destroyed. These included 105 kg of cannabis, 89 bottles of Phensedyl, 27 cans of beer, 13 liters of liquor, 3,885 yaba tablets, 580 packets of heroin, and other items.
