A discussion meeting titled 'Liberation War, Mujibnagar Government and Harmony Bangladesh' organized by the Dhaka University branch of Sampriti Bangladesh was held on Monday at RC Majumdar Arts Auditorium of the University.

The University's Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education) Professor Dr. Sitesh Chandra Bachar was present as the chief guest. Convener Professor of Dhaka University Branch of Sampriti Bangladesh.

Biman Chandra Barua, convener of Sampriti Bangladesh, Piyush Bandyopadhyay, Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy, Prof. Dr. Feroz Ahmed, General Secretary of Bangladesh Buddhist Federation, Bhikkhu Sunand Priya, Prof. Dr. Chandranath Poddar, Dr. Somen Bharatia (Assam), Dr. Rita Chowdhury (Assam), Prof. Dr. Rafiqul Islam, Professor Dr. Member-Secretary of Dhaka University Branch of Asim Sarkar and Sampriti Bangladesh. Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education) Professor Dr. Sitesh Chandra Bachar said, Bangladesh is a country of peace and harmony. Anti-independence evil forces are working to destroy this harmony. He appealed to all, including the young generation, to come forward to build a non-communal Bangladesh under the prudent and far-sighted leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina by confronting this evil force.

Other speakers highlighted the history of the great liberation war, Mujib Nagar government and freedom struggle and said that we got independent-sovereign Bangladesh due to Bangabandhu's strong movement-struggle, immense sacrifices and non-communal leadership.

They emphasized on maintaining peace and harmony among all in building the Sonar Bangla of Bangabandhu's dream.
