Death threats to family of deceased to withdraw murder case in Bandarban

A press conference was held in Sarai Union of Lama Upazila of Bandarban to protest the disappearance and death threats to withdraw the case of Alamgir's murder. The family of the deceased Alamgir held this press conference at the Bandarban Press Club auditorium on Monday morning.
At the press conference, the brother of the deceased, Mohammad Dastagir Sikder Manik, said, "My elder brother Mohammad Alamgir Sikder was systematically killed by Selim Uddin and his associates with sharp knives on his way home from his chicken farm in Pulang Para of Sarai Union in 2019." After the incident, Lama Police Station and army members conducted a raid and arrested Saymon Tripura and Bir Bahadur Tripura, who were involved in the murder. The arrested people, including Selim Uddin, confessed to the law enforcement agencies that they had killed my brother.
Not only that, later the police also arrested another person named Saber Ahmed, who also confessed the same. He further said that Selim Uddin and Joynal Abedin Vetu and his brother Zamir Uddin Alamgir were the main planners and killers of the murder and that they themselves were also involved in the murder. Saymon Tripura, Bir Bahadur Tripura and Saber Ahmed confessed to the murder in a statement under Section 164 in the learned court. But even though 6 years have passed since my brother's murder case, the law enforcement agencies have not yet been able to arrest the main accused.
The accused are roaming around Dibbi and are threatening us to withdraw the case through various means. The accused have threatened to kill us by abducting us if the case is not withdrawn quickly. Currently, we are under threat of death. The relatives of the deceased demanded the immediate arrest and punishment of the main accused in the Manik murder, Selim Uddin, Joynal Abedin Vetu and Jamir Uddin Alamgir.
The press conference was attended by the father, son, younger brother of the deceased Mohammad Dastagir Sikder Manik, as well as journalists from print and electronic media working in Bandarban.
