Daring robbery, goods worth Tk 10 lakh looted in Kalia

A daring robbery took place in Harishpur village of Kalabaria union under Naragati police station in Kalia upazila of Narail.

At that time, the robbers broke the lock of the gate of the house and entered, took the owner of the house hostage at gunpoint, tied his hands and face, and looted goods worth 10 lakh taka, including cash.

The heinous robbery took place at around 3:30 am on Sunday at the house of school teacher Saidur Rahman of Harishpur village.

According to the victim, at around 3:30 am, an organized group of robbers broke the lock of the gate of the one-storeyed building, took the school teacher Saidur Rahman, his wife and daughters hostage at gunpoint, looted 12 thousand taka in cash, 9 bhori of gold ornaments and fled. Later, locals came to rescue them after hearing their cries.

Locals said, "We came to know after receiving the news that Saidur Sir's house was robbed at night."

In this regard, Naragati Police Station OC Md. Shariful Islam said, "The victims have not yet filed a written complaint with the police station. The police have visited the scene after receiving the news of the robbery. If the victims file a complaint, legal action will be taken subject to investigation."
