Cultural Minister visits ailing wife of Language Movement hero Abdul Matin

Cultural Affairs Minister Nitai Roy Chowdhury visited Gulbadan Nesa Monika, the ailing wife of late Language Movement hero Abdul Matin, at her Mohammadpur residence in Dhaka on Wednesday, to inquire about her physical condition and overall health.
During the visit, the Minister recalled with deep respect the extraordinary contribution, political struggle, and sacrifices of Abdul Matin in the historic 1952 Language Movement, stating that the dedication and ideals of Language Movement martyrs and veterans will remain a continuous source of inspiration for future generations.
The Minister handed over a financial assistance check of Tk 5 lakh from the Bangladesh Shilpi Kalyan Trust to Gulbadan Nesa Monika to support her medical treatment, wishing her a speedy recovery.
The Managing Director of the Bangladesh Shilpi Kalyan Trust and the two daughters of the late Language hero Abdul Matin were also present at the residence during the handover.
