BNP leader Alam Mollah's influence : Roads being built with low-quality construction materials in Palash

Without the knowledge of the LGRD Minister, Alam Mollah, the president of Ghorashal Municipality BNP in Palash Upazila, is using his influence to build roads using extremely low-quality construction materials. Seeing such a plight of road construction in the minister's own constituency, public anger has been aroused, and aware locals have called on journalists to bring this matter to the attention of the local minister.
After investigation, it was learned that Yunus & Brothers, a Chittagong-based contractor, got the job in the tender for the 1,800-meter carpeting road from Ghorashal to Darihaola Para. The tender price of the road is 1.17 crore taka. Although the Chittagong contractor got the job, BNP leader and contractor Alam Mollah is mainly working. After starting the work with the work order, the owner of the contracting company did not come to the site even for a day. Meanwhile, the workers engaged in the road construction work said that they are working under Alam Mollah.
Crushed brick concrete is being used in road construction. It is clear from the fact that it is being used in the edging on both sides of the road how low-quality the concrete is. Fearing that they will be affected by the influence of the BNP leader, the locals and even the Palash Upazila Engineer, the institution engaged in supervision, are not opening their mouths.
In this regard, Palash Upazila Engineer Abdul Malek said, "After receiving information that low-quality construction materials were being used in road works, I inspected the work and ordered some materials to be removed immediately. Since it is near my office, I inspect the road every day. Regarding the edging of both sides of the road with half-broken bricks, he said, "I will look into the matter, if that happens, I will do it again."
Executive Engineer of Narsingdi District LGED, Fulkam Badsha, said that there is no scope for using low-quality construction materials in road construction. Instructions have been given to the concerned to properly supervise the construction work.
Although the engineering department guarantees good work, the opposite is happening. Locals, who asked not to be named, said that the owner of the contracting company is not working here, the BNP leader and influential contractor Alam Molla is working. The police station engineer will supervise his work. How many heads will be on his neck! Alam Molla was their ally during the fascist era. He openly sought votes for the boat in Mayor Tushar's election campaign.
Now he is the president of Ghorashal Municipality BNP and an influential leader, his influence extends from the upazila to the district. Alam Molla is using the LGRD Minister's name in the office court to exert influence. He introduces himself as the right hand of the honorable minister. I cannot say whether the minister knows all this.
However, local activists have complained that the work is of poor quality and have sought the intervention of the administration and the minister in this matter.
