LGED,'s Dengue Prevention and Cleanliness Campaign launched in Gopalganj

With the theme 'Keep your yard clean, let's all stay healthy', the Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) has organized a cleanliness and awareness program in Gopalganj on the occasion of the nationwide Dengue Prevention and Cleanliness Campaign-2026.
Executive Engineer Muhammad Rubaiyat Zaman led the program organized by LGED, Gopalganj office on Thursday. Senior Assistant Engineer Md. Rakibul Kabir, along with officers and employees of the department and concerned persons participated.
As part of the program, cleanliness activities were conducted in the LGED office premises and surrounding areas. In addition, awareness activities were conducted to remove stagnant water at various places, identify potential breeding sites, and maintain a clean environment to prevent the spread of Aedes mosquitoes, which carry dengue.
At the time, speakers said that government initiatives alone are not enough to prevent dengue; only the collective efforts of individuals, families and society can prevent the spread of this disease. It is possible to effectively control the spread of Aedes mosquitoes by keeping homes, educational institutions, offices, courts and the surrounding environment clean regularly and by preventing water from accumulating anywhere.
The speakers also said that in order to create a dengue-free environment, along with increasing public awareness, everyone must play a responsible role from their respective positions. To this end, emphasis was placed on conducting regular cleanliness drives and making the public aware.
Through the program, everyone present was inspired by the call to 'Create a clean environment, prevent dengue' and everyone was urged to actively participate in dengue prevention.
