Finally, the 161-member full-fledged convening committee of Barisal Sadar Upazila BNP has been announced.

Senior Joint Secretary General of the Central BNP, Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, approved this committee on July 12.

The committee has been announced with the party's seasoned leader Alhaj Nurul Amin as the convener, Md. Saiful Islam Abbas as the member secretary, and Abdus Salam Rari as the senior joint convener.

Evaluation of sacrifice and honesty: Top leadership
The appointment of Alhaj Nurul Amin to the top position in the new committee has generated great enthusiasm among the leaders and activists of Barisjal Sadar Upazila. Local leaders and activists and party sources say that Nurul Amin was imprisoned and tortured numerous times during the previous fascist government.

Despite facing one political attack and lawsuit after another, he did not deviate from the ideals of martyred President Ziaur Rahman.

"Despite the extreme adversity in the past difficult days, Nurul Amin Bhai did not leave the BNP, rather, he always stood by the ordinary leaders and activists in times of trouble, giving them courage and shelter."

A total of 8 people have been appointed as joint conveners in this huge committee of 161 members. They are:
Md. Mahbubul Alam Babul, Md. Abdul Jabbar Sikder. Adv Mokhlesur Rahman, Md. Mamun Sardar Gani, Dr Fazlur
Rahman Sardar, Md . Harun Or Rashid, Md Abdul Haque Sikder, Md. Obaidul Karim Tuhin

The leaders and activists hope that a dedicated and fearless leadership like Alhaj Nurul Amin will make Barisal Sadar Upazila BNP stronger than ever before and take it one step further.
