State Minister for Land and Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs Barrister Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin has stated that true national development extends far beyond physical infrastructure, emphasizing that building a prosperous nation fundamentally requires human resource development.

He made these remarks while addressing a distribution ceremony as the chief guest at the Maini Hall of the Chittagong Hill Tracts Development Board (CHTDB) in Rangamati.on Sunday.

Stressing national unity and regional harmony, State Minister Mir Helal noted that all ethnic communities residing in the hilly areas must work together seamlessly, much like the diverse colors blending into a rainbow, to foster peace and sustainable prosperity. He also underscored the historical vision behind the establishment of the CHTDB, noting that the government remains fully committed to uplifting the livelihoods of marginalized populations in the region.

The event was presided over by CHTDB Chairman Major General (Retd) Anup Kumar Chakma, while the board's Vice Chairman, Sheikh Saleh Ahmed, delivered the welcome address.

The ceremony was attended by prominent officials, including Rangamati District Police Superintendent Muhammad Abdur Rakib, CHTDB Member for Finance (Joint Secretary) Suman Barua, Member for Planning (Deputy Secretary, Retd) Zahid Iqbal, local executive engineers, and other senior board officials and media personnel.

During the program, certificates were awarded to 200 freelance IT trainees, sewing machines were distributed among 50 women to promote self-employment, and multimedia equipment was handed over to various educational institutions. Following the event, the State Minister also inaugurated a newly constructed watchtower at the Rangamati Shishu Park.
