State Minister Aminul Haque : Initiatives being taken to recognize sports as a profession, include them in textbooks from grade 4 onwards.

State Minister for Youth and Sports Md. Aminul Haque said, emphasizing on keeping the young generation on the right path, the State Minister said that in the current times, there is no alternative to sports to create a generation free from devices and drugs and to spread ethics among the youth.
The State Minister made these remarks while delivering the chief guest speech at the final and award distribution ceremony of the 'District Administrator Gold Cup Football Tournament 2026' organized at Shaheed Bir Shrestha Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj om Tuesday.
The State Minister said that democracy has been restored in the country through a 17-year-long anti-dictatorship movement. Prime Minister Tarique Rahman led that movement from the front and today, Bangladesh's sports arena is moving forward under his leadership. He said that the current government is giving utmost importance to sports. In continuation of that, work is being done to give professional recognition to sports. The first phase of 'New Bud Sports' has already been successfully completed to search for new talent from the grassroots. Highlighting the importance of sports in the education system, he said that the work of including sports in the textbooks from the fourth grade is underway. Ongoing. Work has already been completed on writing books on 8 events of New Bud Sports, which will be introduced in schools from next year.
Informing about various plans for the development of the country's sports infrastructure, he said that the decision to construct a gallery on the right side of the Habiganj District Stadium, as well as renovate the press box and dressing room has already been taken. Initiatives will be taken to build indoor facilities and a gymnasium there. Besides, the stadiums of every district of the country will be modernized within the next 5 years and the swimming pools of all districts will also be renovated as soon as possible.
The event was presided over by Munshiganj Deputy Commissioner Syeda Nurmahal Ashrafi, with MP Md. Kamruzzaman and Munshiganj District Council Administrator A.K.M. Iradat present as special guests.
