Tamim Iqbal appointed Chairman of ACC Game Development Committee

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Tamim Iqbal has been appointed chairman of the Asian Cricket Council's (ACC) Game Development Committee, marking a significant milestone during his maiden appearance at the continental body's Annual General Meeting in Bangkok, Thailand.
The high-profile meeting brought together regional cricket leadership to review administrative structures, financial frameworks, and future expansion plans for the sport across Asia.
A major highlight of the AGM was a structural shift regarding the ACC presidency. Previously, the position rotated exclusively among four Test-playing nations: India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh. In a historic amendment, the council officially added the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) to the rotation list, making them eligible to assume the continental leadership in future terms.
Additionally, Khalid Al Zarooni, vice-president of the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB), was unanimously elected as the new vice-president of the ACC. New executive board members representing Qatar, Singapore, Maldives, and Bahrain were also finalized for the 2026–2028 term.
Reflecting on the collective vision of the council, ACC President Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi stated, "Our responsibility now is to carry this vision forward with humility, discipline and an unwavering commitment to the game—for the players of today, and for the generations of Asian cricketers yet to come."
