Chief Whip Nurul Islam Moni wishes Poet Mohan Raihan's long life

Chief Whip of the Bangladesh Jatiya Sangsad Nurul Islam Moni on Saturday expressed his hope for the long life of eminent poet Mohan Raihan, wishing him health, continued pursuit of knowledge, and dedication to the service of the nation.
“May poet Mohan Raihan live a hundred years. May he continue to explore various branches of knowledge and remain dedicated to the welfare of the nation,” the Chief Whip said.
He was speaking as the chief guest at a special program held at the main auditorium of the Bangladesh National Museum in the capital, organized by the Poet Mohan Raihan 70th Birth Anniversary Celebration Committee.
Highlighting the poet's contributions, the Chief Whip said Mohan Raihan has enriched Bengali literature through his creativity, devotion to knowledge, and social consciousness across his extensive literary career. He expressed confidence that Raihan's literary works and philosophy will inspire the younger generation to embrace humanistic values, patriotism, and the search for knowledge. He also wished the poet robust health, longevity, and continued success in his literary endeavors.
The event was attended by distinguished figures from literary, cultural, and political arenas, including Minister for Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs Md. Asaduzzaman.
The program commenced with an inaugural performance of song, followed by the screening of a documentary detailing the life, literary achievements, and creative contributions of Mohan Raihan. A commemorative souvenir book published to mark the poet’s 70th birth anniversary was also unveiled at the event.
It was highlighted during the event that poet Mohan Raihan has authored 26 books to date. In recognition of his outstanding contributions to Bengali literature, he was awarded the Bangla Academy Literary Award 2026.
Convener of the Poet Mohan Raihan 70th Birth Anniversary Celebration Committee Salimullah Khan, Coordinator Dinabandhu Das, and Saiful Huq of the Revolutionary Workers Party were present alongside prominent personalities from the cultural spectrum and media representatives.
