At least 1,000 underprivileged individuals received free medical treatment and essential medicines through a day-long healthcare campaign organized under the initiative of Member of Parliament for Faridpur-3 (Sadr), Nayab Yousuf.

The free medical camp was inaugurated on Saturday morning at the Halima Girls' Collegiate School premises in the town and ran from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Inaugurating the event as the chief guest, MP Nayab Yousuf emphasized the government's commitment to enhancing local healthcare infrastructure.

"No resident of Faridpur will suffer due to a lack of healthcare. We are actively working to upgrade the Faridpur Sadar Hospital from a 100-bed facility to a 250-bed general hospital, she added. 

A panel of 10 specialized physicians provided consultations and prescribed treatment across multiple departments, including general medicine, pediatrics, gynecology and obstetrics, ophthalmology, cardiology, and diabetes. Necessary medications were distributed to patients free of cost.

Over 1,000 men, women, and children from various wards of Faridpur city benefited from the day-long humanitarian initiative.

The opening ceremony was addressed by Afzal Hossain Khan Palash, Administrator of Faridpur Zila Parishad; Prof. ABS Sattar, Editor of Daily Fatehabad; Dr. Md. Mostafizur Rahman Shamim, Convener of Faridpur Diabetic Association; Benazir Ahmed Tabriz, President of City Jubo Dal; and Ali Rezwan Biswas Tarun, General Secretary of City Jubo Dal.

Prominent local political leaders, including Kotwali Thana BNP General Secretary Najmul Hasan Chowdhury Ranjan, City BNP Convener AF Kaiyum Jingi, Member Secretary Golam Mostafa Miraj, and Joint Conveners Emdadul Huq Emdad, Shahidul Huq Shahin, Humayun Kabir, and Kamrul Islam Milton, were also present at the inauguration.

The medical camp was coordinated and facilitated by Faridpur District Chhatra Dal Vice-Presidents SM Koushik Ahmed Anik and Fazlul Hamid Tamim.
