Khalil Uddin Farid, Bhola

After a gap of eight years, Bhola has once again got a minister. At the first visit of Barrister Andaleeb Rahman Partho, Information and Broadcasting Minister of Bangladesh and Member of Parliament for Bhola-1 has created a festive atmosphere across Bhola district. Party activists and local residents waited at various roads and intersections with flowers to welcome the minister.

Barrister Andaleeb Rahman Partho arrived at Bhola Kheyaghat Launch Terminal by speedboat via Barishal at around 1:00 pm on Wednesday. It was his first visit to Bhola since assuming office as a minister.

Deputy Commissioner Shamim Rahman, Superintendent of Police Shahidullah Kawsar, District BNP Convener and Zila Parishad Administrator Alhaj Golam Nabi Alamgir, District BJP President Aminul Islam Ratan, along with leaders and activists from different levels of the BNP and BJP, welcomed him at the terminal. They greeted the minister with floral tributes.

A festive atmosphere was visible in Bhola town and various areas from the morning, centering on Partho’s arrival. Party leaders and activists as well as members of the general public gathered at different intersections with flowers to welcome him. The people of Bhola expressed both joy and renewed expectations for the district’s development after a minister was elected from the district following a long gap.

Local residents said they expect Andaleeb Rahman Partho to play a vital role in improving Bhola’s communication system, infrastructure and civic amenities in his new capacity. In particular, they hope the minister will take effective initiatives to address the district’s long-standing communication and connectivity problems.

Andaleeb Rahman Partho’s father, late Najiur Rahman Manju, founder of the Bangladesh Jatiya Party-BJP, played an important role in Bhola’s politics for many years. Because of his contribution to the development of Bhola, he was locally known as the “Architect of Bhola’s Development.” Local residents hope that Parth will also stand by the people of Bhola, continuing his father’s political and development-oriented legacy.

According to party leaders and activists, Andaleeb Rahman Partho travelled by car from the terminal to the Bhola District BJP office. There, he exchanged greetings and held discussions with party leaders and activists.

Later, he was accorded a guard of honour by the law enforcement agencies in his capacity as a minister.

Partho's first visit to Bhola as a minister has generated considerable interest not only among party leaders and activists but also among the general public.

Local residents are now keenly watching for his message on the district’s development and future plans during his first visit after assuming ministerial responsibility.
