Bangladrsh Coast Guard has conducted Fire Drill Workshop and Public Awareness Program Titled ‘Festival of Youth 2025’ at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in the city on Wednesday, says a Coast Guard press release. 

Since its inception, the Bangladesh Coast Guard has been tirelessly working to protect lives and property of the people in remote coastal and riverine areas, carrying out fire-fighting, rescue operations, and disaster management activities.

In recent times, unexpected fire incidents have occurred in various parts of the country, including the capital. These incidents have caused loss of lives, serious injuries, and widespread damage. To prevent such devastating losses of life and property, the Bangladesh Coast Guard has organized fire-fighting training drills aimed at raising awareness and providing both theoretical and practical training on various fire extinguishing techniques.

As part of this initiative, On Wednesday,  from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, the Bangladesh Coast Guard Dhaka Zone conducted a workshop and public awareness program on fire drill titled "Festival of Youth 2025" at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Government Boys' High School, located in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, .in the capital city. A total of 80 students from the school participated in the workshop.

During the workshop, participants received hands-on training on the use of fire-fighting equipment such as CO₂ gas, water-type fire extinguishers, and ABC dry powder extinguishers. Additionally, practical demonstrations were provided on how to extinguish fires caused by gas cylinders or those occurring in confined spaces without panic.

The Bangladesh Coast Guard continues to raise awareness through such workshops to protect lives and property, and to respond effectively to fire incidents and natural disasters — a commitment that will persist in the future.
