A factory named Tricom Freight and Logistics Ltd. has been accused of illegally occupying the land of a company named New Asia Synthetics Ltd. in Rupganj, Narayanganj, by ignoring the court order.

It is learnt that during the previous Awami regime, in violation of the court's ban, the former chairman of Murapara Union Parishad, with the help of Almach Bahini, forcibly occupied 40 percent of the land and government-owned roads on the banks of the Shitalaksha River in Brahmangaon Mouja of the upazila and constructed a paved jetty. Due to this, the movement of the local people is also suffering. Not only that, the company has also changed the size, shape and location of the river bank land, foreshore land and adjacent land at will and has taken over the land by a company named Tricom Freight and Logistics Ltd.

Amanullah, the Ghat Manager of New Asia Synthetics Ltd., said, our company purchased a total of 150 bighas of land in R, S Dag 3610, 3611, 3612,3613, 3614, 3615, 3616, 3617, 3618 and 3619 on the east bank of the Shitalaksha River in Brahmangao Mouza of the upazila. About 40 percent of the land out of the 150 bighas of land was forcibly taken over by Tricom Freight and Logistics Ltd. in 2022 by the terrorist group of Awami League UP Chairman Tofail Ahmed Almas. Later, our company filed a case in the Narayanganj court. Even then, the company forcibly imported all kinds of ceramics, food, stone, sand, coal and other heavy machinery and continued to bring goods to factories, godowns and project sites from Chittagong and Mongla ports through Chargandhabpur, Rupganj and Narayanganj ports. A case is ongoing in this incident.

In this regard, Tricom Freight and Logistics Ltd. Manager Mehedi said, this land was not purchased by us. We did not occupy anyone's land. Our company has been operating the wharf by renting the facility from BIWTA.

Narayanganj River Port BIWTA Officer Mobarak Hossain Majumder said, two companies named New Asia Synthetics Ltd. and Tricom Freight and Logistics Ltd. have taken licenses from us. The case of the two companies regarding the boundary is ongoing in court. Nothing can be said until the court verdict is out।
