Lalminarhat Sadar Police arrested 5 members of an inter-district robbery gang from a residential hotel in Lalmonirhat at 4:30 pm on Monday.

Based on a secret information, Lalminarhat Sadar Police Station conducted a search in rooms 201 and 208 of the border residential hotel adjacent to Mission More and arrested 5 members of an inter-district robbery gang along with country-made weapons.

The arrested are: Abdul Hamid Khan (35), son of Azgar Ali of Haroram Chaparhat village in Kaliganj upazila of Lalminarhat; Liton (40), son of the late Shahid Ali of Jianagar village in Dhaka South Keraniganj; Aynal Haque (43), son of Buday Dewan of Barihatu Boli Ga village in Tungi upazila of Munshiganj; Nayan Sarkar Gopal (46), son of the late Mintu Mia of Khalapara village in Laujan upazila of the same district; and Amir Hossain (41), son of the late Ansar Ali of Rubayet Nagar village in Dhaka Keraniganj upazila. They were found with 2 cast irons, 2 chapatis, 5 ropes, 2 knives, 1 iron chain, 1 towel, 6 mobile phones, and 4 cloth bags.

Lalmonirhat Sadar Police Station OC Nur Nabi said, the arrested persons were staying at a residential hotel with the intention of committing robberies in different parts of Lalmonirhat city. Based on a secret information, the police conducted a raid at the hotel and arrested 5 people with country-made weapons. The police said that they were members of an inter-district robbery gang.

Lalmonirhat Superintendent of Police Md. Tariqul Islam confirmed the arrest of 5 members of an inter-district robbery gang and said that the robbers came to Lalmonirhat district with the intention of committing robberies and stayed at a residential hotel. Based on a secret information, the police conducted a raid and arrested them with country-made weapons. The district police is working towards this end.
