The former president of the union BNP has been accused of physically torturing a housewife in Nijhumdwip Union of Hatia Upazila of Noakhali, after she refused to accept his advances, entering her home, stripping her naked, and forcibly obtaining her signature on a white stamp.

The victim, Kohinur Begum (wife: Md. Hashem), filed a case against Anwar Hossain at the Hatia Senior Judicial Magistrate Court on Monday (October 6). The previous incident took place on the afternoon of September 21.

The accused, Anwar Hossain, is the son of the late Harun Majhi of Islampur village, Ward No. 2 of Nijhumdwip Union, and is the former president of the local BNP and former UP member.

Taking advantage of the fact that no one was home, the accused Anwar Hossain entered and made a lewd proposal.

When she objected, they abused and threatened her, pulled her hair, tore her clothes, and stripped her naked.

He was beaten with a stick and injured in various sensitive areas of his body, including the ankles of both legs.

The mobile phone was taken from the scene.

To prevent legal action, they forcibly took signatures on three white stamps worth one hundred taka and two blue papers.

Then, the house was surrounded by guards and blockaded for a few days with the help of associates.

Kohinur Begum said,
"Anwar's member used to make inappropriate suggestions on his mobile phone many times. He got angry when I blocked his number. On the afternoon of September 21, he entered my house and tried to have sexual intercourse with me. When I resisted, he stripped me naked and beat me. He did not even give me the opportunity to seek medical treatment. I was kept in isolation for several days. I want a fair trial for this torture."

Accused Anwar Hossain said,
"I went to mediate their marital dispute at the request of Kohinur Begum's mother. Since there was no resolution, one party is making baseless allegations to defame me."

Hatia Police Station OC AKM Ajmal Huda said,
"We have not yet received any instructions from the court regarding the case. Legal action will be taken if we receive instructions."
