World Teachers’ Day observed in Shyamnagar

: Under the theme “Teaching: A Profession, the Brilliance of Collective Effort,” a discussion meeting was held on Sunday morning (October 5) in the Upazila Parishad hall room, organized by the Shyamnagar Upazila administration to mark World Teachers’ Day. Presided over by Shyamnagar UNO

Mst. Rani Khatun, the discussion featured remarks from guests including Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md. Rashed Hossain; Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Md. Ziaur Rahman; former Upazila BNP president Master Abdul Wahed; Upazila Jamaat amir and teacher Maulana Abdur Rahman; Upazila Assistant Education Officer Shahin Hossain; retired headmaster Krishnananda Mukherjee; Principal Zulfikar Al Mehedi Liton; President of Shyamnagar Secondary Teachers’ Association and headmaster Asaduzzaman Mithu; General Secretary and headmaster Abdus Sattar; Principal Maulana Weduzzaman; Superintendent Maulana Abul Kashem; President of Shyamnagar Government Primary Teachers’ Association and headmaster Dinesh Chandra Mondol; General Secretary Tariqul Islam; and headmistress Jesmin Nahar, among others. The program was conducted by Upazila Academic Supervisor Mina Habibur Rahman. Speakers said that teachers deserve respect everywhere. Teachers are the lifeblood of the education system. A teacher does more than impart textbook knowledge: they shape character, teach morality, and build future generations. Therefore, ensuring teachers’ dignity, rightful entitlements, and respect is the responsibility of both the state and society. Several hundred teachers from primary, secondary, madrasa, and college levels attended the event.
