Murder of homeowner during robbery: Accused sentenced to 10 years arrested in Sonagazi

Model Police have arrested Jasim Uddin Patwari (52), a 10-year-old accused in a murder and robbery case in Feni's Sonagazi. He is the son of the late Abul Kalam of Chandla village in Char Majlishpur union of the upazila.
Police said that on August 25, 2025, the Additional District and Sessions Judge of Comilla, Jasim Uddin, was sentenced to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Tk 50,000 for the murder of a householder during a robbery in Chauddagram, Comilla in 2009. After issuing an arrest warrant, the police conducted several raids to arrest him. On Monday (Oct 6) night, based on secret information, a police team led by Assistant Sub-Inspector of Model Police Station, Taslim Hossain, conducted a raid and arrested him from Kuthirhat in the upazila. There are also several other cases against him.
Saiful Islam, OC of Sonagazi Model Police Station, said, the accused, who was sentenced to 10 years in prison for murdering a housekeeper while committing a robbery in Chauddagram, Comilla, has been arrested and sent to prison.
