
308 bottles of foreign liquor seized, two drug traders arrested in Sunamganj

Two drug traders have been arrested along with a consignment of foreign liquor by Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Bangladesh on Sunday.
The two drug traders were handed over to Sunamganj Sadar Model Police Station after filing a case along with the seized evidence.
The arrested individuals are Omar Ali, son of Shukur Ali from Hobipur village of Sunamganj Sadar Upazila, and Shahjahan, son of the late Sunu Miah from Rampur village of Dowarabazar Upazila.
A team of RAB-9 Sylhet CPC-3 Sunamganj Camp seized 78 bottles of foreign liquor from the possession of the two drug traders in the Brahmangaon area of Sunamganj Sadar Upazila early Sunday morning.
In addition, another team from RAB-9 Sylhet CPC-3 Sunamganj Camp seized 234 bottles of foreign liquor from the Tilurkandi area of Dowarabazar Upazila early Sunday morning. At that time, two drug traders fled strategically, abandoning the consignment of liquor packed in sacks.
RAB-9 Sylhet’s media officer (Additional Superintendent of Police) K.M. Shahidul Islam confirmed the information on Sunday afternoon.
