
Two BGB members hurt in drug smugglers' attack in Lalmonirhat

Two members of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) were injured in an attack by drug smugglers at the border of Patgram upazila in Lalmonirhat on Sunday.
The attack happend at around 2:00 AM near Mohammadpur village. The injured are Anup Kumar (29) and Maniruzzaman (29), both from the Nazirgoma BGB camp. They are now getting treatment at Patgram Health Complex.
According to BGB sources, two smugglers tried to bring drugs across the border on a motorcycle. When BGB officers went to stop them, the smugglers dropped the drugs and ran away. Later, when the officers tried to take the motorcycle, a group of smugglers with help from some locals attacked them.
A case was filed at Patgram police station on Sunday afternoon. Several named and unnamed smugglers are accused in the case.
