
Notice issued to teacher for misconduct with journalists in Rajapur

An assistant teacher of the 29 No. Purba Fulhar Government Primary School in Rajapur Upazila of Jhalokathi has allegedly misbehaved with journalists.
The Assistant Teacher Mosammat Hena Akter, not only behaved rudely but also allegedly attempted to break the cameras of the attending journalists.
In response, on Saturday (May 17), Rajapur Upazila Primary Education Officer Md. Akhtar Hossain issued a show-cause notice to Assistant Teacher Mosammat Hena Akter and the school's Head Teacher Md. Mamunur Rashid.
The notice states that Hena Akter violated the code of conduct applicable to government employees. She has been asked to submit a written explanation within three working days as to why disciplinary action should not be taken against her and reported to higher authorities.
According to reports, on Thursday (May 15) afternoon, a group of local media personnel visited the school to investigate alleged irregularities. At that time, Assistant Teacher Hena Akter misbehaved with them and refused to provide any information regarding school operations. A video of her unprofessional conduct went viral on social media, sparking widespread public outrage.
Rajapur Upazila Primary Education Officer Md. Akhtar Hossain stated, “We are taking the incident very seriously. Necessary action will be taken based on the investigation. We are committed to ensuring professionalism in the school environment.”
Meanwhile, the local journalist community has strongly condemned the incident and demanded swift justice. They stated that such rude and aggressive behavior not only obstructs press freedom but also tarnishes the reputation of educational institutions.
