Barishal DC hands over sewing machines, mobile coffee makers to make 5 helpless people self-reliant

The office of the Deputy Commissioner of Barishal is not just a center for administrative work, but has become a unique platform for the immediate solution of common people’s problems. 

The regular weekly public hearings of the district administration are held there every Wednesday, where the Deputy Commissioner of Barishal, Mohammad Delwar Hossain, listens to various problems of the people coming to the hearing and tries to resolve them quickly.

On Wednesday afternoon, after the public hearing, under the unique initiative of SSC 84 Event and with the cooperation of the volunteer social organization SNDC, sewing machines, mobile coffee makers, and financial assistance were provided with the aim of making 5 underprivileged people self-reliant. At that time, these items were handed over to the helpless people by the Deputy Commissioner of Barishal, Mohammad Delwar Hossain.

Also present were the Assistant Director of the District Social Services Office Barishal and 84 Event’s Convener Sajjad Parvez.

A sewing machine was given to helpless housewife Nasrin Akter Moni to make her self-reliant. Shanta Akter, Sabiha and Md. Chabbish were provided with mobile coffee makers and coffee-making materials to create self-employment. At that time, financial assistance was given to Shafiqul Islam’s family for business.

Besides, on behalf of the Barishal District Administration, Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Delwar Hossain provided Tk 10,000 in assistance for the treatment of Sagor, who lost a leg in a terrible road accident on the Dhaka-Barishal highway.
