An award ceremony was held in Kathalia Upazila of Jhalokathi to honor the top-performing students of 2022 and 2023 academic years.
The event was organized under the Performance-Based Grants (PBG) program of the Secondary and Higher Education Division, in collaboration with the Upazila Secondary Education Office and the District Education Office.
The award recipients included the highest scorers from SSC, Dakhil, HSC, Alim, and Vocational examinations from schools, colleges, and madrasas of the upazila.
The ceremony took place on Tuesday (29 July) at the Upazila Auditorium. Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Zahidul Islam presided over the event. Md. Zakir Hossain, Deputy Director of Secondary and Higher Education for the Barisal region, was present as the chief guest.
Special guests included District Education Officer Md. A. Jabbar and Upazila Secondary Education Officer Mu. Anwar Azim.
Among those who spoke at the event were Upazila Academic Supervisor Md. Aminul Islam Khan; President of Momin Uddin Secondary School and Professor Md. Imran Kabir; and students Md. Mahbub Hossain and Taskin Tahreema Ridmi, among others.
