Bhola's Lalmohan Upazila Primary Education Office has become a den of irregularities and corruption. No work is done in this office without bribes. And the mastermind of this irregularity and corruption is the education office's office assistant cum-computer operator Md. Billal Hossain. He cleverly collected money from various sectors and gave a large part to the Upazila Primary Education Officer Md. Shahe Alam.

According to the complaint, each teacher had to pay five hundred to fifteen hundred taka to office assistant cum-computer operator Billal Hossain for the teachers' fatigue and entertainment allowance in 2026. From January to June of this year, 589 teachers received fatigue and entertainment allowance. In this, Billal Hossain has traded bribes worth at least four lakh taka. He gave a large part of this bribe money to the education officer Md. Shahe Alam. In addition, those who did not pay the prescribed bribe were not given any entertainment allowance. A teacher who did not wish to be named said, "The office called me and asked me to submit an application for entertainment allowance along with five hundred taka for office expenses. I was not given entertainment allowance because I submitted the application without paying five hundred taka. On the other hand, some other teachers who did not wish to be named said that bribes of five thousand taka are paid for the allocation of school slips, five to ten thousand taka for approval of sick and maternity leave, two hundred taka for salary sheets, ten thousand to fifteen thousand taka for pension files, and one and a half thousand to two thousand taka for teachers' TA bills. The bribes in these sectors are also collected by the Education Office's Office Assistant-cum-Computer Operator Md. Billal Hossain. If the prescribed bribe is not paid, no work is done properly.

Regarding the complaint, Office Assistant-cum-Computer Operator Md. Billal Hossain said, I have not done any work in exchange for bribes. I am doing everything within the rules. I have given the applications for Shranti Pawarna to teacher Palash sir. I have posted the ones he gave me online. Palash sir can tell me the names of those whose names have been omitted.

Lalmohan Upazila Primary Education Officer Md. Shahe Alam said, Billal Hossain does all the online work of the office. I do not know whether he has taken bribes from anyone. I do not know about taking money for Shranti Pawarna. In the context of the conversation, he said that he may take money for this as he has to pay money to the accounts office. He could not give a satisfactory answer to the question of how teachers sit in the office during school and class hours.

Bhola District Primary Education Officer Aminul Islam said in this regard, these allegations are very disappointing. After receiving the complaint, we will take necessary action against the responsible person subject to investigation.
