Argentinian supporter in Mirzaganj sentenced to 30 days in prison

A mobile court in Mirzaganj, Patuakhali, has sentenced a broker to 30 days in prison after he was caught red-handed at the upazila land office, wearing an Argentina jersey.
He was arrested from the Upazila Land Office premises around 11 am on Sunday (July 12). The convicted broker's name is Md. Bablu Hasan (28). He is the son of Mosharraf Hossain of Bagbari, Chatra village, Deuli Subidkhali union of the upazila.
According to the mobile court sources, the sentence was imposed on the charge of defrauding the public by entering a government office under the Penal Code 1860. The operation was led by Executive Magistrate and Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md. Russell Munshi.
According to the sources, the accused Bablu Hasan had been illegally entering the land office and doing brokerage for a long time. He used to embezzle large sums of money by misleading ordinary customers who came to the office for services in various ways. The victims also made verbal complaints to the upazila land officer several times. After that, the administration called him and warned him several times, but he did not pay attention. This Sunday morning, he was caught red-handed while coming to the land office again and doing the same thing and was given this punishment.
Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Md. Russel Munshi said that this campaign has been launched to make the land office completely broker-free and service-friendly. Such campaigns will continue in the future to prevent harassment and fraud of the common people.
