TCB dealers form human chain in Gopalganj demanding license renewal

Dealers of the Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) have formed a human chain and submitted a memorandum in Gopalganj demanding license renewal and reinstatement of existing dealers.
The hour-long human chain was held in front of the Gopalganj Press Club on Sunday at 11 am under the joint initiative of TCB dealers from five upazilas of the district.
The speakers in the human chain complained that despite fulfilling all the conditions and performing their duties with honesty and integrity for a long time, the licenses of 30 dealers in the district have not been renewed yet. They said that even after the necessary activities were completed in 2025, the concerned dealers were not renewed. Besides, even after June 2026, no effective steps have been taken to renew the licenses of any dealer in the district.
TCB dealers Bulbul Alam Bulu, Deepak Kumar Saha, Sohel Mia, Ujjwal Biswas, Md. Monowar Rahman, Mohammad Khan and Lipu Majumdar along with other dealers spoke at the human chain.
The speakers said that the initiative to appoint new dealers by excluding dealers who have been serving for a long time is against administrative continuity and service activities.
