PM's visit to southern region : Festive mood on Dhaka -Barishal highways

A festive atmosphere was prevailing along the Dhaka-Barishal highway on Monday surrounding the visit of BNP Chairman and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman to Barisal district.
Since this is his first official visit to the southern region after the political change of August 5, a large number of leaders and activists and ordinary people were present on both sides of the highway since early morning. As he left Dhaka for Barishal by road via the historic Padma Bridge, he was given colorful greetings and welcome at important points in various districts including Shariatpur, Madaripur, Faridpur.
Festive atmosphere across the highway
On the way from Dhaka to Barisal, a large number of people took positions on both sides of the road in various areas including Padma Bridge, Padma South Thana area of Shariatpur, Pachchar of Shibchar in Madaripur, Bhanga More of Faridpur, Rajoir, Mustafapur, Kalkini and Bhurghata of Sadar Upazila.
BNP and its affiliates in Madaripur district and Shibchar upazila staged a massive showdown centered on the Prime Minister's arrival.
At the entrance of the district headquarters, reserved women MP Helen Jerin Khan, District BNP Deputy General Secretary Advocate Jamilur Rahman Mithu, District Jubo Dal President Mofazzal Hossain Mufa, General Secretary Faruk Hossain, District Swechchhasebak Dal President Shahadat Hossain, General Secretary Advocate Masud Parvez (VP) - District Jubo Dal member Md. Mosharraf Hossain, along with leaders and activists of BNP, Jubo Dal, Chhatra Dal and allied organizations greeted the Prime Minister.
