On the occasion of the Victory Day on 16th December in Longdu of Rangamati, with the sunrise, various departments of the upazila administration, law enforcement forces, political, NGO and social organizations including various professions paid their respects with flowers at the memorial.

On Monday morning, Rangamati Langadu Upazila Parishad paid tribute to the brave martyrs of the 71st battle by placing wreaths at the freedom platform built in memory of the brave freedom fighters.

At this time, Longadu Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Kafil Uddin Mahmud paid tribute to Freedom Fighter Commander Taiyub Ali along with all the departmental officers of the upazila by placing flowers on the freedom terrace.

After that, on the occasion of the Great Victory Day, Longadu Upazila administration organized a reception for the brave freedom fighters and the family members of the martyrs.

District council member Minhaj Murshid, District BNP Senior Vice President Md Abu Nashir, Longadu Upazila BNP President Tofazzal Hossain, Jamaat Amir Nashir Uddin, Longdu Police Station Officer-in-Charge Ferdous Wahid, Longdu Press Club President ABS Mamun were present.

On the occasion, felicitation gifts were given to the brave freedom fighters and the family members of the martyrs. The contribution of freedom fighters is remembered with respect and gratitude is expressed to them.

Also, on the occasion of celebrating the day, a colorful victory fair was organized for three days by the upazila administration. 50 stalls of pitha-puli, agricultural products, handicrafts and government services were displayed and distributed in the fair organized in the ground of the upazila parishad.

These include drawing competitions for children and teenagers, various sports and interesting cultural evenings. Local people and people of different professions participated spontaneously in it.

Also, the day has been celebrated with due dignity in various educational institutions of the upazila.

The upazila administration has informed that the organization of the Great Victory Day will make the new generation more aware of the spirit and history of the Liberation War and inspire them with patriotism.
