National Fisheries Week inaugurated in Meherpur

A rally, discussion meeting, prize distribution and fish release program were held in Meherpur on the occasion of the National Fisheries Week on Sunday.
The rally started from the Meherpur DC office premises in the morning. Led by Additional District Magistrate Tajwar Akram Sakapi Ibne Sajjad, the rally circled the main road to the tune of musical instruments and ended at the Upazila Parishad premises. Present at the rally were Sadar UNOo Bablu Sutradhar, Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate Bhuban Chandra Halder, Medical Officer of Meherpur Civil Surgeon's Office Dr. Inzamamul Haque, District Fisheries Officer Rabiul Islam, District BNP General Secretary Advocate Kamrul Hasan, District Jamaat-e-Islami Political Secretary Kazi Ruhul Amin, District JASAS Member Secretary Baka Billah and people from different classes and professions were present. Later, the National Fisheries Party was inaugurated by releasing balloons in the Upazila Parishad premises. After that, a discussion meeting and award distribution were held in the auditorium of Sadar Upazila Parishad.
