Although 26 idol pujas and 4 Ghat pujas were held in Sandwip, Chittagong during this year's Sharadiya Durga Puja, the most exceptional event was the theme-based puja at Jagannath Akhra Temple located in Ward No. 3 of the Municipality.
In the exceptional 12-minute presentation, the epic story of the appearance of Goddess Durga and the destruction of demons is presented through various artistic techniques in the movement of the idol. It shows how evil forces and mortal demons are finally defeated by the Goddess Mother, the female power. It gives a clear message - the victory of truth, justice and good forces is inevitable, and the fall of evil is inevitable.
Along with this, the philosophical lesson of human life is presented - what has man brought into the world, what has he lost, and what has he taken or received, he has taken from nature. What is with someone today may be with someone else tomorrow. Therefore, the main philosophy of life is to do good deeds without regretting anything and to be united in the bond of brotherhood.
A crowd of people thronged the Akhra temple premises to see the presentation of this unique theme. Visitors flocked in droves like moths every day, and the crowd of people created a festive atmosphere in the puja mandap.
Finally, this innovative theme puja of Jagannath Akhra temple was not only exceptional, but was also widely appreciated as the best arrangement of this year's Durga Puja in Sandwip.
