It has been alleged that a businessman named Nur Hossain Shaon has lost his capital and become destitute after falling into the trap of fraud by Azgar Hossain, president of the Information Technology League, and his brother Ilias Hossain in Sonagazi, Feni. Businessman Nur Hossain made this allegation at a press conference organized at a restaurant in Sonagazi Municipality on Tuesday.
Businessman Nur Hossain Shaon said at the press conference, " On September 24, I jointly started the As Sunnah Pharmacy business with Md. Ilyash by giving thirteen lakh taka for the position of the shop. Later, during the business, I borrowed fifteen lakh taka and gave capital. Md. Ilyash, the owner of the shop, demanded twenty thousand taka every month for the shop rent from me. After a month passed, Md. Ilyash again demanded an additional ten thousand taka for rent. When I did not agree to his proposal, his brother, Asgar Hossain, the president of the Upazila Information Technology League, got into a dispute with me. At one point, I asked for the money paid in the joint business and later the capital invested in the business to be returned, and when I proposed to Ilyash Hossain to settle the accounts, he contacted a company called Design to Construction to take a deposit and rent the business establishment." When the company decided to take a security deposit and pay the rent, they took the keys to the business from me and, on May 17, threatened me and forcibly occupied the shop.
Shaon also said, "I have all the evidence and call records of my transactions with Ilyash. Despite all the evidence, he embezzled my money by cheating and repeatedly threatened to kill me." At the press conference, businessman Nur Hossain Shaon sought the intervention of the administration to recover 1.3 million taka from the fraudsters.
At the press conference, businessman Shaon's close associate Shakhawat Hossain Raihan said, "When I came to know about the forcible seizure of the shop from my sister-in-law, I personally spoke to Ilyash, but he denied taking the money. At one point, the DC, SP, police, army, and RAB all claimed to be in his pocket and threatened to kill him if he did not talk about the matter. He himself withdrew money from my father's account from the Islami Bank Sonagazi branch and fraudulently signed it with my sister-in-law's name. We also have the CCTV footage of this.
