A meeting was held on Wednesday at Zakiganj Police Station regarding a Facebook comment by Dipak Biswas that hurt religious sentiments. The meeting took place in the presence of Zakiganj Police Station OC. Zahidul Islam Munna.
Among those present were Khatib of Zakiganj Central Jame Mosque Mufti Abul Hasan, Upazila Jamaat Amir Maulana Jalal Uddin, Zakiganj Sadar Union Chairman Hasan Ahmad, Upazila Khilafat Majlis General Secretary Maulana Alauddin, Upazila Islami Andolon General Secretary Maulana Zainul Islam, Upazila Jamiat Assistant General Secretary and journalist KM Mamun, Upazila Al-Islah leader Maulana Fadlur Rahman, and UP member Lutfor Rahman, along with other Muslim religious leaders.
Also present were former headteacher of Sherulbagh High School Jyotish Chandra Pal, Zakiganj Puja Committee President Sanjoy Chandra Nath, Shubhrakanti Das Chandan, Zakiganj Press Club Secretary Shrikanta Pal, Puja Committee General Secretary Rajas Biswas, Kornomoy Das, Narendra Roy, and former UP member Naba Kishore Biswas, among other Hindu community leaders.
In front of everyone present, Hindu youth Dipak Biswas, along with his father and relatives, offered an unconditional apology for his Facebook comment that had hurt religious sentiments and promised not to repeat such an act in the future.
Muslim religious leaders, public representatives, and political figures at the meeting accepted his apology, emphasizing that forgiveness is a noble quality in Islam and urging everyone to maintain peace and harmony in Zakiganj.
