The 17th founding anniversary of Begum Rokeya University Rangpur will be celebrated on Sunday (Oct 12). 

Former advisor to the caretaker government Dr. Hossain Zillur Rahman will be the chief guest at the morning program organized on this occasion. In addition, the first vice-chancellor of the university, Professor Dr. Mohammad Lutfar Rahman, will be the main discussant. The founding anniversary program will be inaugurated by Professor Dr. Mohammad Rezaul Haque, convener of the Rangpur University Implementation Coordination Council.

Haji Danesh Science and Technology University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohammad Enamulya, Kurigram Agricultural University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohammad Rashedul Islam and Divisional Commissioner Mohammad Shahidul Islam will be special guests. Begum Rokeya University’s Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohammad Shawkat Ali will preside over it.

The day-long event includes sports competitions in the afternoon, Milad Mahfil after the Asr prayer and cultural programs in the evening.

Meanwhile, for the first time since its establishment in 2008, the Rangpur Begum Rokeya University authorities are going to organize a convocation ceremony. Honorable Foreign Adviser Mohammad Touhid Hossain will preside over the convocation ceremony. Students from the 1st to 12th batch of the university will have the opportunity to participate in the first convocation after completing the registration process. Students of the 12th batch who have completed both Honors and Honors-Masters can register and participate.

Meanwhile, the registration process for the convocation ceremony of the 17th founding anniversary of Rangpur Begum Rokeya University will begin from 12 October Sunday.
