Housewife's hanging body recovered in Gafargaon

Police recovered the hanging body of a housewife named Amena Akhter (36) in Gafargaon, Mymensingh.
Police recovered the body from Rouha village in Saltia union on Tuesday morning and sent it for autopsy.
According to police and the family of the deceased, Amena Akhter, a mother of three, had been living in her father's house for the past one month due to illness.
She is the daughter of the late Gias Uddin of Rouha village in Saltia union of the upazila. She was married to Shahjahan Mia of Dhalia village in Bhaluka upazila about 20 years ago. The couple has two daughters and a son.
The deceased's elder brother Md. Mostafa said, 'My sister had been ill for a long time. She was brought to her father's house from her husband's house a month ago due to her deteriorating physical condition.
On Tuesday morning, when everyone couldn't find Amena Akhter, they searched and found her hanging body with a noose around her neck from a guava tree near the house.
Upon receiving the information, the Gafargaon police station went to the spot and recovered the body.
Gafargaon Police Station OC Muhammad Shibirul Islam said, the housewife's family claims that she was physically and mentally ill.
The body has been sent to the morgue for an autopsy. Further legal action will be taken after receiving the investigation report. '
