There have been allegations of beating and injuring Zahid Hasan Farhad,  General Secretary of the Union Jubo Dal, and his father at Sarishabarhi. 

 The incident took place in the Gobinda Patol area of Pogaldigha Union in the upazila this morning. It is learnt that the injured Zahid Hasan Farhad is the general secretary of Pogaldigha Union Jubo Dal and his father Abdul Barek is a former UP member of thatunion.

According to local sources, Jubo Dal leader Farhad Hossain got the contract to repair the road from Gobindapatal in Pogaldigha Union of the upazila to Raghunathpur Bazar in Kazipur Upazila. In the morning, he went to pay for the bricks and sand for the road work. At that time, some youths blocked his path. At one stage of the argument, Farhad was beaten and injured. At that time, his father came forward and beat him too and broke his hand. Later, the locals rescued Farhad and his father in their injured condition and brought them to the Upazila Health Complex.

In this regard, Pogaldigha Union BNP President Mamun Or Rashid Fakir said, "There was a dispute with neighbors over cropland. I heard that the union beat up Farhad, the general secretary of the Jubo Dal, over that.

In this regard, Sarishabari Police Station OC Chand Mia said,  no one has filed a complaint with the police station regarding this incident yet. If a complaint is received, legal action will be taken after investigating it.
