
Dr. Kazi Moniruzzaman Monir gets Begum Khaleda Zia Honorary Award

Dr. Kazi Moniruzzaman Monir, a distinguished son of Morelganj, has been honoured for his fearless role as a persecuted leader in the anti-fascist movement.
He received the “Mother of Democracy Begum Khaleda Zia Honorary Award” organized by the Bangladesh National Citizens’ Council.
The award ceremony took place on October 10, 2025, at the Sagar-Runi Hall of the Dhaka Reporters Unity, marking the 4th founding anniversary and discussion meeting of the Bangladesh National Citizens’ Council.
This year’s theme was —
“Let not power become greater than religion, morality, values, and patriotism.”
Chief Guest: BNP Vice Chairman Shamsuzzaman Dudu
Special Guests: Freedom Fighter & Advisor to BNP Chairperson Abdus Salam,
General Secretary of Patuakhali District BNP Adv. Md. Mojibur Rahman Toton,
and Member of Dhaka Metropolitan South BNP Convening Committee Adv. Arifa Sultana Ruma.
The event was presided over by the Acting President of the National Citizens’ Council Central Committee, VP Dr. Md. Mainul Islam (Badol Talukdar), and conducted by the organization’s General Secretary, Lion Md. Solaiman Talukdar.
Speakers remarked that, “Dr. Kazi Moniruzzaman Monir is not just a politician; he is a courageous face of the anti-fascist struggle. His honesty, sacrifice, and ideals set an example in national politics.”
In his reaction, Dr. Monir said,
“This recognition not only makes me proud but also makes me more responsible. I pledge to continue the lifelong struggle for democracy and people’s rights.”
