Allegations of horse slaughter for meat sale in Tangail

Ten horses were slaughtered in the dead of night in a secluded area of Basail, Tangail. The miscreants fled with the meat of seven horses, leaving behind three of the slaughtered horses. The incident has created a stir among the locals in the area.
On Sunday morning, a slaughtered horse, its head, skin and bones were found lying in an abandoned area in the Barnikishori area of Basail Municipality. Later, when the matter came to light, locals rushed to the spot.
Basail Police Station OC Alamgir Kabir said that the miscreants slaughtered 10 horses at the abandoned place. It is believed that the horses were slaughtered between 1 am and 4 am.
Although they were able to take the meat of 7 horses as it was dawn, they slaughtered three horses and left them. He added that the miscreants brought the horses from somewhere else in a truck and slaughtered them there.
