
Foundaton stone of model mosque laid in Kurigram
The foundation stone of the Model Mosque and Islamic Foundation Complex has been laid in Bhurungamari Upazila of Kurigram. Upazila Executive Officer Golam Ferdous formally inaugurated the laying of the foundation stone of the mosque on Monday afternoon at the Upazila Court Mosque premises.
Public Works Department Executive Engineer Abdullah Al Faruk, Islamic Foundation Deputy Director Abdur Razzak Rony, Bhurungamari Government College former principal Azizur Rahman Swapan, BNP leader Kazi Nizam Uddin, officials from various government departments and mosque worshippers were present at the time.
The mosque will be constructed by the contractor M/s. Babar Associates, implemented by the Islamic Foundation under the District Public Works Department at a cost of Tk 15 crore.
The model mosque and Islamic Foundation complex, equipped with modern facilities, will have separate ablution and prayer facilities for women and men, a library, a research center, an Islamic book sales center, a Holy Quran memorization department, children's education, a guest house, accommodation for foreign tourists, a body washing facility, registration and training for pilgrims, training for imams, an autism center, a mass education center, and an Islamic cultural center. In addition, the cultural center will have office facilities and parking facilities for officials and employees, including accommodation for imams and muezzins.
