Various government incentives, checks, social service grants and support materials have been distributed among local beneficiaries under the auspices of the Haripur Upazila administration of Thakurgaon. The event was held on Sunday at the Upazila Parishad premises amidst colorful celebrations.

Member of Parliament from Thakurgaon-2 constituency Dr. Md. Abdus Salam spoke as the chief guest at the event and handed over assistance checks and materials to the beneficiaries. Haripur UNO Chandan Kar presided over the event.

Prof Dr. Hasina Afroz, wife of the Honorable Member of Parliament, was present as a special guest at the event.

According to the Upazila administration and the concerned department, on this day, the Department of Social Services distributed checks for medical assistance to beneficiaries suffering from cancer and complex diseases. In addition, the Primary Education Department distributed educational materials and wheelchairs to the disabled and high-quality sprayer machines for agricultural work to local farmers.

In his speech as the chief guest, Member of Parliament Dr. Md. Abdus Salam said, "The administration is working relentlessly to deliver government services and assistance to the doorsteps of the people." In his speech as the president, UNO Chandan Kar expressed his determination to deliver this incentive to the right beneficiaries.

Among others present at the event were Upazila BNP General Secretary Alhaj Abu Taher, Haripur Police Station OC (Investigation) Sharif Uddin, Vice President Ismail Hossain, Advisor Professor Karimul Haque, Upazila BNP Joint General Secretary Masud Rana and all the officials and employees of the upazila administration. In addition, leaders and activists of Upazila BNP and all its affiliated organizations, local journalists and beneficiaries were present at the event.

Before the main event, the chief guest Dr. Md. Abdus Salam inspected various developmental works including cleanliness drive of Haripur Upazila Health Complex. Later, he inaugurated a tree plantation program on the premises of the health complex.

The Haripur Upazila administration provided overall support in the smooth running of the entire program and activities.
